Beardown Tor (68 x 76cm) Start Point (67 x 75cm) ‘This Land Sings’ - Stewart Edmondson Solo Show at Dart Gallery
‘This Land Sings’, a solo show of new work by artist Stewart Edmondson, launches at Dart Gallery this October half term. The show
will comprise over 40 of Stewart’s wonderful new paintings. Working on location at favourite spots across the South Hams and at his studio on Dartmoor, Stewart captures the brooding moors, the beautiful River
Dart and the timeless South Hams coast in his deeply atmospheric, poetic works. The heat of this summer
brought its own challenges and opportunities for Stewart. Painting outside required plenty of shade and lots of sunscreen, but the result is a body of work that shimmers with heat and sunlight. His paintings of Dartmouth Harbour and Start Bay in particular sing with the intensity of the summer just gone. 2026 marks the 20th
anniversary
of Stewart’s first collection with Dart Gallery. To celebrate the occasion
the new collection will include 20 diminutive postcard sized paintings demonstrating the breadth of Stewart’s range (ideal for adding a taste of his wonderful work to your home or adding to a collection of his larger work). Stewart will be in the gallery for the
First View from 6pm on Saturday 24th October. It’s the perfect opportunity to meet Stewart and choose your favou- rite from one of Dart Gallery’s largest collections of his wonderful work. ‘This Land Sings’, a solo show of new work by Stewart Edmondson, launches on Saturday 24th
October with a First View from 6pm.
