The goal of Lufthansa Group is to create a powerful distribution landscape for trade partners and travel agents which is able to match the offerings the airlines can already provide to travellers via their own channels. Travellers are used to individualised offers from airlines’ own channels and NDC makes these offers also available for partners and travel agents. Lufthansa Group has invested in new technology, Distribution Dialogues and also a team of more than 60 distribution specialists who make sure partners are properly taken care of whilst engaging in a distribution project.


Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines and SWISS recently introduced “NDC Best Fares” in the UK and Ireland. These new fares feature a consistent price reduction of £17 round trip or £9 oneway per ticket on European Light and Classic fares on point-to-point routes. Point-to-Point routes included in the NDC Best Fares are London, Manchester and Dublin to hubs Frankfurt, Munich, Vienna and Zurich. NDC Best Fares are exclusively available via partners and travel agents using either a Lufthansa Group NDC API or NDC web solution SPRK, which both excludes the


£11.30 Distribution Cost Charge. As a result when purchasing an NDC Best Fare, savings of almost £30 on a round trip are made.


In June Lufthansa Group launched its NDC Partner Program. A new website to provide general information to our partners and travel agencies seeking more details and wanting to ask questions regarding Lufthansa Group’s NDC API solutions and offers. The website provides immediate information and is dedicated to travel agencies, corporates and travel technology providers. Lufthansa Group has been a pioneer in distribution and will continue to invest in this field. Currently engaged in more than 50 NDC API projects Lufthansa Group also supports the free of charge NDC web solution SPRK. In order to motivate trade partners who have invested in NDC technology or are in the process of doing so, Lufthansa Group introduced its NDC Best Fares in June and will continue to develop this channel with attractive content such as new fare types and ancillaries.
