Whitesides talks about near-orbital flights cutting journey times between, say, London-Sydney to around three hours. Meanwhile, airline ANA is taking space exploration seriously (p7), and a trend is emerging as space travel adapts expertise from commercial flying.

MIND MATTERS Last month, I became a “Mental Health First Aid Champion”, after taking a one-day course. Why? BBT reported on travel’s link to stress two issues ago, and the topic headlined our last BBT Forum, so there was an element of “practise what you preach”. The day was revelatory (p30-31), and while there are implications for travel policies and programmes, it’s equally about looking out for each other and breaking stigmas.
