Alexandre de Juniac, IATA’s director general and chief executive, sets out his vision for the next steps in New Distribution Capability (NDC)
With NDC, the corporate buyer can add more value to the services they provide clients – and we are
working with our travel manager advisory groups in Europe and in North America to make sure we get it right. These 25 corporate buyers, who act as a sounding board for IATA, have identified areas of significant benefits. For example, buyers can segment by traveller types and provide options (lounge access, an extra bag, etc) through their chosen booking channel without having to go to airline websites, as is typical today. NDC will enable more responsive travel policies and better decision-making, owing to the capture of data on total spend. That’s because of greater visibility of fare types and ancillary costs. In an NDC world, buyers should see more traveller satisfaction.
