An overview of the latest worktops and tiles on the market Compiled by: Vicki Evans

HARVEY MARIA | Organics The new Organics

collection IDS | Proplas Tile from Harvey Maria

comprises vinyl floor tiles with a stone-effect finish. They are available in four shades – Natural, Cambrian, Portland and Jurassic – and come in either a plain or a square design (pictured). When combined, the shades create eight individual tiles; four with a dark inner square and a light border, and four with a light inner square and dark border. Laid alternately, the geometric design creates an almost 3D illusion, alternating from light to dark. Tel: 0330 330 1231 www.harveymaria.com

IDS has introduced two new large-format panels in the Proplas collection. The new tongue-and-groove 2,800 x 250mm wall decors are available in ‘stone graphite large tile’ and ‘stone grey large tile’ options. The panels are said to give the look of real tiles and grout while bringing the benefits of fast installation and simple cleaning. The PVC surface is non-porous and mould-resistant. The collection joins its existing range of smaller tile-effect panels. Tel: 01782 567222 www.idsurfaces.co.uk

GEMINI TILES | Urbancrete

Gemini Tiles has released a new collection of concrete-effect floor and wall tiles. The large-scale (800 x 800mm) tiles are available in white, grey, mink and dark grey. The company says it designed this range to bring an urban aesthetic into the home and create a concrete look, but with the durable properties of tiles. The porcelain tiles are said to be highly resistant to stains, scratches and moisture, making them hard-wearing and durable. Tel: 0800 014 2994 www.ctdtiles.co.uk

THE MARBLE EFFECT

CRL | Pacific Grey

CRL stone has added to its quartz work surface range with the addition of Pacific Grey. The quartz stone offers the effect of marble yet is said to be durable and hard-wearing with “none of the maintenance issues associated with natural materials”. CRL says it requires no sealing for the lifetime of the slab. It is available in 20mm or 30mm thicknesses and can be chosen in a large-slab format for use on a kitchen island. LAPICIDA | Antique Marble

Lapicida claims to offer designers and installers the aesthetics of marble with the durability and easy installation of tiles. The new collection has six new marble effects: Arabescato, Bianco Carrara and Calacatta Oro are all light marble effects; Grigio is a grey marble; Macchia Vecchia is beige with orange highlights; and Nero Marquina is black with white veining. The tiles are available in two sizes: 1,192 x 595mm or 595mm square. Tel: 01423 400100 www.lapicida.com

FIBO | Signature

Fibo has added to its Signature collection of wall panels with several new colours. The waterproof panels are now available in a new marble look in four shades: white, silver grey, black and golden brown. The collection has also gained four other shades: an olive green, light sand, a warm grey and ‘soft cement’. The panels require no grouting and so are said to be fast and simple to install and suitable for commercial and domestic applications. Tel: 01494 771242 www.fibo.co.uk
