services, supervised by UNOPS, included the change of operating theatres doors, the securing of the high voltage main power supply cables, the setting of the main transformer voltage alignment, the readjustment of the ATS for the generators, water pumps capacity increase, HVAC system repairs and UPS check. For the medical equipment, external
support was activated, in particular for the validation of the installation and set up of steam sterilisers. In several cases, direct contact with the manufacturers or regional distributors was established, for technical clarification or documentation requests. This was particularly important for the health technologies of critical areas.

and medical technologies, strategic for the functioning of the hospitals, tenders were launched for preventive maintenance activities services (6 months or 1 year), to be performed regularly with the involvement of the hospital teams, establishing a link for support and continuity between the hospitals and external suppliers. An essential step of in implementing
the maintenance system was the identification of spaces for the technical workshops and storage room. Dedicated furniture was purchased to store spare parts, books and manuals, and to have proper tables for repair activities. A review of the available manuals was undertaken, and the technical library completed in hard and soft copies, according to the inventory coding of the
equipment, to facilitate the search of the documents when needed. The same method was utilised for the arrangement and storing of accessories and spare parts by item code with reference to the official list of equipment. Specific tools were purchased for each technician in the workshop, in order to have a complete box for each sector (electrical, mechanical, plumbing, biomed) and to increase the accountability of each technician regarding their tools. Standardised procedures have been
developed for the preventive maintenance programme of medical equipment and MEP installations. The different components of the programme continue to be produced by UNOPS with the help of two biomedical engineering interns. This includes working procedures, checklists and logbooks for major medical
