At NHS Scotland Assure, she focuses on streamlining processes and systems to enhance efficiencies within the Authorising Engineer (AE) service. She is committed to improving the quality and safety of healthcare environments.


Developing technical Neil Robson


Neil Robson, Principal Engineering Manager, NHS Scotland Assure, has over 40 years’ experience working within the built environment, with his main area of expertise being electrical systems. He was instrumental in the development of NHS Scotland Assure’s Authorising Engineer (AE) service, and is a Chartered Engineer and fellow of IHEEM, as well as a Member of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.

This helps their teams to develop robust and comprehensive guidance that can be applied across NHS Scotland. works collaboratively with Health Boards, enabling them to contribute to guidance and technical standards, and providing strategic links to national forums such as the National Heating and Ventilation Advisory Group, the National Water Safety Advisory Group, and the National Electrical Advisory Group. As an organisation, NHS Scotland Assure echoes this commitment to training and development for its internal colleagues, ensuring that its teams maintain a high level of competency, and stay on top of the latest developments in their respective fields of engineering.
