AI in the spotlight

A free-to-attend one-day conference being held by IHEEM’s East Midlands Regional Branch at Uttoxeter Racecourse in Staffordshire on 11 September will centre on the latest technological advancements and innovation in the healthcare sector. IHEEM said: “Now an annual date for your diary, the conference builds on the success of a similar event held in 2022, and promises a programme spanning artificial intelligence, smart lighting devices, geothermal solutions, and chemical-free water treatments.” For more details, and information on how to book, visit https://tinyurl.com/ f5k3a8fa

building, together with the provision of a flexible training facility and meeting space, enhancing the functionality of the two-storey, purpose-built office building. Survey results discussed

The West Midlands Branch met for a virtual event on 21 August, with the focus on the results of the Branch’s member/non-member survey results, and a number of local NHSE representatives introduced to attendees.

A visit to the Midland Metropolitan University Hospital in Smethwick, scheduled to open later this year, is being planned for mid-September. More details to follow over the coming weeks.

The Branch’s next face-to-face meeting will be on 16 October at the Government Hub in Birmingham, and will be attended by members of the Cabinet Office Infrastructure Projects Authority and the PFI Centre of Excellence Team. The event will be open to both members and non- members, but places are limited, so please contact Branch Chair, Steve Lawley, by email at steve.lawley@ipa. gov.uk as soon as possible if you are interested in attending.
