IHEEM launches new website and training offers to members
IHEEM is proud to announce the launch of its newly designed website, together with several exciting training and development opportunities for members. Pete Sellars, CEO of IHEEM, said: “After months of hard work and dedication we are delighted to announce the launch of our new website this month. We wanted to make the new website faster, easier to navigate, and more user-friendly. Our overall goal is to provide our members with an easier way to access details about IHEEM’s services, and to browse up-to- date information, knowledge, and CPD training offers, all of which clearly link to our Five-Year Business commitment to modernise the Institute.”
Digital transformation of business Pete Sellars continued: “The ongoing digital transformation of business and society have occurred at pace in response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, triggering major changes in key segments ranging from online services, to capital spending and the ‘cloud’. As an Institute, we recognise that the web has evolved to meet people’s high expectations for user experience and functionality. Website users today demand pleasant, efficient, and real-time experiences. With this in mind, we recognised that our previous website was no longer fit for purpose, particularly in its functionality with different devices, and the requirements for mobile usage. Following a significant period of planning and development by the Head Office team, we are now delighted to launch our new and updated website.” Melissa Glass, IHEEM’s Marketing &

Events Manager, added: “Users will see that the website has been streamlined and developed for existing and potential members to view all that IHEEM has to offer in an easy-to-navigate and engaging format. Our primary goal during the redesign process was to create a more valuable, user-focused resource for use across all platforms and devices. Specifically, we focused on making it easier for our members to learn and locate valuable information – for example about our practitioner’s guidance, or CPD training opportunities, not only at their desk, but equally ‘on the go’ via mobile devices.”
Membership and registration IHEEM COO, Tania Davies, explained: “The new site offers easy-to-navigate information regarding membership and registration, including a simplified application process, as well as practical information regarding upcoming events and training courses which are available to both members and non-members. We also have an extensive library of technical information in our new ‘Learning Library Hub’, which includes information across an array of disciplines, including Ventilation, Medical Gas, Fire, and Decontamination.”
Authorising Engineers
Pete Sellars said: “We recognised that our previous website was no longer fit for purpose, particularly in its functionality with different devices, and the requirements for mobile usage.”
Another key feature is the new IHEEM Expert Directory, where users can filter registered information on the IHEEM Authorising Engineers by discipline, view biographies, and access contact details. This will provide individuals and Trusts with a quick and easy way to navigate the portal and get in touch with registered Authorised Engineers when needed.
Company Affiliate Directory Tania Davies said: “Our improved Company Affiliate Directory is an advanced gateway to gain information on the companies that are associated with the Institute. The new profiles facility enables Company Affiliates to market themselves through the Institute in a simple and engaging format. Companies will be able to let members and those browsing who they are, promote their key services, and provide sales content, e.g. brochures and contact details for key personnel. This is a vast improvement on the last Company Affiliate Directory, and links directly to our commitment to support our Company Affiliates.”
Future Leaders & STEM
One aspect of the new website that the IHEEM Head Office team is particularly excited about is the new ‘Future Leaders’ section. This section will include case studies from healthcare engineers and apprentices on their own personal career journeys, as well as careers maps that outline the different career options there are within the industry. Project Support Officer, Monira Kaouech, added: “You will also find our STEM Learning Hub here, which provides information about becoming a STEM ambassador, how to get involved in this valuable agenda, and even how you can organise a free STEM visit for your child’s school, or a school in your local area. We have also introduced a Skills Hub, which is aimed at providing support and resources to inform and develop individuals’ CV writing and interview skills, in addition to advice on social media best practice. In summary, the aim is to provide an insight into what to expect from the healthcare industry, including information
