JOA clears ECA Responsible Gambling bar
JOA Group becomes the first French operator to meet the ECA’s Responsible Gambling Framework criteria.

BRUSSELS – The retirement of Bettina Glatz- Kremsner as General Director of Casinos Austria has prompted a restructure of the Board of the European Casino Association. Ms. Glatz-Kremsner’s position in representing Austria at the ECA Board has been filled by Erwin van Lambaart, who transitioned from his role at Holland Casino to the CEO of Casinos Austria at the start of April. In addition, Pieter Boers, Vice President of Gaming and Services at Holland Casino, joins as a new Board Member to fill Mr. Van Lambaart’s vacated position as The Netherlands’ representative on the Board.
“The contribution of Bettina Glatz-Kremsner, as Board Member and the ECA’s Vice Chair during the last two years, has been critical to the unified response of the land-based casino sector to the adversity faced by members during the Covid-19 crisis,” stated Per Jaldung, Chairman of the ECA. “I wish Bettina the very best as she retires from her role at Casinos Austria and, on behalf of the ECA, recognise the debt we owe for the contributions she has made, not only in regards to our association, but to the casino industry as a whole. JOA Group has achieved certification according to the ECA Responsible Gambling Framework following an independent audit conducted by Pieter Remmers, Chairman of the Board of G4. Certification of its 33 casino estate ensures that JOA is operating in adherence with the latest standards in Responsible Gambling upheld by the land- based casino industry in Europe.
“Compliance strengthens the confidence of our customers in our business,” said Pauline Boyer Martin, Chief Marketing Officer, JOA Group (pictured). “It also contributes to the positive image of our industry and our company, as the first French group certified at a European level.”
Seeking to achieve the goals set forth within the framework, JOA realised it needed to take its own responsible gambling action plans to a new level. “We have put in place e-learning for 100 per cent of the front and back-office teams and we have also implemented training in regards to responsible alcohol policy,”explained Pauline Boyer Martin.

Baden-Württemberg and Spielbanken Sachsen Anhalt, Holland Casino, Casinos Austria and the Veikkaus casinos in Tampere and Helsinki.
