scheduled to give a complete overview of the world of automated test equip- ment (ATE) from a practical engi- neering and management standpoint on Monday, September 11. Beginning by examining the ATE interfaces and their limitations,

the tutorial will offer managers and project engineers a quick and pur- poseful insight into the probable sources and causes of potential tech- nical and management problems. Working from the interfaces, Stoldt will explore analog and digital test methods, examine the impact of new instrument technologies and cover the basics of switching systems and pin electronics. The presentation will explore

the elements of ATE Software, exam- ining the role and the limitations that they impose at the TPS level. ATE languages will also be discussed and the different language types analyzed to determine their effect on ATE and TPS performance. Software now makes up over 50
