Power Shunt Resistors
Bradford, PA —KOA Speer Electronics has introduced its PSG4 current sense power shunt resistor, which offers a power rating of up to 10W in a 2726 package. The resistor’s four-ter- minal construction is designed improve the accuracy of its cur- rent detection. The PSG4 is resistant to heat, operating in a temperature range of –65 to +175°C (–85 to +347°F). The new resistor has a low
TCR of ±50 ppm/°C, a resistance tolerance of ±1 percent, and resistance values of 0.5 and 1 mW. The PSG4 is AEC-Q200- qualified and meets EU RoHS requirements. The resistor is suitable for automatic placement and reflow soldering. Used primarily for current
detection, the current sense power shunt resistors are useful for trans-
portation and industrial applica- tions, such as motor control, invert- ers, DC-DC convertors, and battery management.

Grieve Intros Top Loading Batch Oven
Round Lake, IL — Grieve has intro- duced its No. 988, an electrically- heated, 650°F (343°C) top-loading batch oven, currently used to process electronic components at a cus- tomer’s facility. Workspace dimen- sions measure 12 x 1 x 1 ft (3.7 x 0.3 x 0.3m). Incoloy-sheathed tubular heating elements contain 15 kW of power, while a 600 CFM, 1/2 HP recirculating blower provides back- to-front horizontal airflow to the workload. This Grieve batch oven has 6 in.
(15.3 cm) insulated walls throughout, an aluminized steel exterior, type 304 stainless steel interior, a manu-
al, counterweighted rear-hinged door, a workspace floor reinforced for 100 lb (45.4 kg) of load, an access door at each end of the oven, and swivel casters with swivel locks and wheel brakes for in-plant portability. Controls on No. 988 include a
digital programming temperature controller, manual reset excess tem- perature controller with separate contactors and a recirculating blower
airflow safety switch. Contact: Grieve Corp., 500 Hart

Tech-Etch: Custom Photo- Etched Screens and Filters
Plymouth, MA — Tech-Etch photo- etches custom screens, filters and fil- ter supports for many applications, including medical devices, hydraulic valve screens, laser light filters, fuel filters, extruding screens, liquid filtration, particle separation, and sizing. Photo etching allows de - signers to specify a straight or tapered hole, which facilitates liquid fil- tration and back-flow cleaning. Hole sizes range from
RoHS
0.003 in. (0.08 mm) and up. Unlike stamping, photo etching yields a burr-free product that results in clean, efficient screens with greater mate- rial integrity. Photo- etched screens have tight - er hole size tolerances and greater dimensional stability than woven wire mesh, making them excellent for applications that require frequent cleaning, or in devices that have elements of mechanical contact. Unlike woven wire mesh screens, the fixed photo- etched openings will not change size through use.
The screens are primarily pro-
duced from stainless steel, but other materials, including polyimide are available. Tech-Etch also offers a standard line of MicroEtch® screens
