Displays for Mobile Devices from DISPLAY VISIONS

SAINT PAUL, MN —The EA DOG series of flat display mod- ules from DISPLAY VISIONS is designed specifically for applications where low energy consumption and a compact design are important. This makes this display series ideal for use in battery-pow- ered handheld devices. The displays work

with single supply 3.3V as standard and require only 150 to 350 µA, which makes them ideal for use in mobile and bat- tery-powered devices. A power- down mode brings it more down to 2 µA. The optional LED back- light is also designed for 3.3V and is satisfied with low currents from 3 mA. The overall height of the dis-

play units without the backlight is just 0.08 in. (2 mm); with light- ing a maximum of 0.23 in. (5.8 mm). This makes the modules suitable for designs where space is severely limited. They can be soldered directly to printed cir- cuit boards in 0.1 in. (2.54 mm) pitch, without the need for addi- tional sockets. The displays are available in

ten sizes, as text or graphic vari- ants. There are five different dis-

ative). Numerous design options are available, in combination with six separately available LED lights (white, amber, blue, red, yellow/green and RGB). All displays have an SPI

interface. In addition, the text displays offer a 4-/8-bit interface; certain models also support I2C. Due to the integrated tempera- ture compensation, the modules can be used in a wide tempera-

ture range. Contact: DISPLAY
