Sensoray TIGARD, OR — Sensoray’s model 2218 is a USB eight-channel sen- sor interface. Each channel can be independently configured to read voltage, thermocouples or resis- tive devices such as thermistors, RTDs or strain gauges. Eight channels of general
purpose I/O are available for digi- tal control and monitoring. The 2218 takes every measure to guar- antee the accuracy of data. Each analog channel is sampled up to five times per second. A voltage- to-frequency converter is used to increase resolution at lower val- ues where it is needed most. Adjustments for non-linear-
ity are made on board according to the selected sensor type. On- board hardware is used as refer- ence standards for periodic re- calibration to maintain high ac- curacy without interrupting data capture. Pulsed voltages to excite resistive devices minimize sensor heating. Four wire con- nections are available for all eight channels. An auxiliary 5V jack is
available for use with high cur- rent sensors. An all-metal enclo- sure is available for rugged pro-
