Energy-efficient Drying and Hardening from Rehm Thermal Systems
BLAUBEUREN-SEISSEN, GERMANY — In electronics manufacturing, optimal drying and hardening of lacquers, adhesives and casting compounds is of critical importance for the entire process. With the Alteco verti- cal dryer, the Pramo continuous-belt dryer, the RDS magazine dryer and a drying system with a meander-based design, Rehm offers uncompromisingly space-saving systems yet reliable high throughput capacity. Designed specifically for flat modules
with an overall height of up to 2.8 in. (70 mm), the Alteco vertical dryer is the compact system of choice where the highest possible throughput is required for long hardening processes yet in the smallest possible space. This is achieved by loading the circuit boards onto goods carriers that pass through two process towers, each equipped with up to four heat zones stacked vertically above one another. Unlike with the Alteco, in
the Pramo continuous dryer the modules are processed using a looped belt system. Goods carri- ers with shuttles pass through a series of zones in which they are first heated and then held at the specified temperature for the drying and/or hardening process. The RDS magazine dryer
from Rehm Thermal Systems is no less economical. Neither de- signed as a vertical dryer nor fit- ted with continuous belts, this system is loaded by hand or

continue to experience signifi- cant supply chain disruptions. New technology for cars will also continue to increase the demand for chips, particularly in electric vehicles and internet-connected cars.

thinking simply in terms of the immediate future, either. Given the environment, some inde- pendent distributors have stopped stocking inventory and are demanding prepayment for components with rigid “no can- cellation and no return” policies. “When things start to return
to normal and companies need to make decisions to reduce their in- dependent distribution supply base, they are going to remember the ones who brought consistent quality and flexibility and helped them weather the storm,” he adds. Contact: Classic Compo-

using a handling system with magazines con- taining multiple items, which then pass into the heat zones. Finally, the meander dryer enables a
large number of parts to be accurately posi- tioned and passed through the process cham- ber, all in the smallest of spaces. The loading position is located outside the chamber, ei- ther manually or with the aid of a robot. Contact: Rehm Thermal Systems,
