Compact Color Display from ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLY
Gilching, Germany — ELECTRONIC ASSEMBLY (EA) has launched its IPS-TFT panel, EA TFT020-23, with a screen diagonal of 2 in. (51 mm). The display is designed to provide extremely fine resolution, wide view- ing angles and excellent sunlight readability. The company designed the
display as a full-color alternative to monochrome graphic displays, which are widely used in hand- held devices. Despite its compact size of 1.4 x 2 in. (36 x 52 mm), it offers a fine resolution of 240 x 320 pixels. Its brightness of 1,000
cd/m2 delivers brilliant images in the office, production or operat- ing room, even in bright sun- light. Due to its IPS technology, the crisp, sharp contrast is preserved over a wide viewing angle of 160°, and the colors remain unchanged throughout. One connector combines all con-
trol lines of the display, the backlight and even the optional touch panel with 39 pins at 0.02 in. (0.5 mm) pitch. The version with a capacitive touch surface, including an I2C con- troller, is designated EA TFT020- 23AITC. This version measures 1.7 x 2.6 in. (43 x 65 mm) and the PCAP touch panel is optically bonded for a

interface. Connection to and 8- or 16- bit data bus is also possible. Both models were designed as
handheld displays for heavy-duty outdoor use, with ambient tempera- ture ratings from –4 to +158°F (–20 to +70°C). They have a rated service
life of 50,000 hours. Contact: ELECTRONIC

Alternative to Standard LSZH Cables
Valencia, CA — Unlike typical LSZH cables that tend to be stiff, Cicoil’s new low-smoke, zero-halogen, high- flex, unshielded flat cable is an excel- lent alternative. The ultra flex cable is jacketed with the company’s pro- prietary Flexx-Sil™ rubber material and has been test- ed by a UKAS-certified lab for smoke, toxicity, flamma- bility, and halogen content. The ultra-pure design
is Class 1 cleanroom rated and is cured continuously with no debris or material contamination in an auto- mated, climate-controlled environment. The cable jacket meets UL/CSA VW-1, FT 1 and FT 2, UL 94V-0 flammability, HL1 and HL2 levels of EN 45545-1, and FAA burn test requirements. Available from 28 to 4 AWG
with 2 to 12 conductors, the ultra- pure Flexx-Sil jacket offers 100 per- cent transparency, is self-healing from small punctures and will not deform or prematurely age due to prolonged exposure to sunlight, high heat, ozone, UV light, radiation,
humidity, fungus, acid, water, sodi- um chloride, vibration, and many chemicals. Rated for voltages up to 20,000
VDC, the cable is extremely durable, performs exceptionally well
