San Jose, CA — SHENMAO has in- troduced its PF606-RT35 room-tem- perature solder (RTS) paste, which has been specially designed for SMT processes. Compared with common pastes, the no-clean paste is formu- lated to provide consistent printing performance, low voiding, stable vis- cosity, and excellent testability. With its wide reflow window, it can be fit easily into the processes of the most complicated PCB designs. The new PRF606-RT35 lead-free,
low melting point solder paste is de- signed to provide long-term stability over a wide range of temperature con- ditions. It can be used to perform sol- dering with low peak reflow profiles in air or nitrogen atmospheres to save energy and improve yield rates.

solderability, it is suitable for pin-in- paste, provides ICT testability, and high-speed printability. PCBs and components no longer need to with-
stand 464 to 482°F (240 to 250°C) with the decrease in reflow tempera- ture, so product designers can choose components and PCBs with low ther- mal stability to keep costs down. In addition, energy consump-
tion is decreased, along with the tem- perature drop of the reflow oven. However, the real benefit is related to the thermal storage ability of the oven, product type, production quan- tity, etc. SHENMAO has been success-

fully approved by many international and well-known electronics manufac- turers. The company strives to offer the best quality without compromis- ing cost and time-to-market, while providing maximum value to all cus- tomers.

Europlacer Installs X-ray System at Phoenix Systems
Poole, Dorset, UK — Phoenix Systems UK, Ltd., has added a Europlacer Uni- comp AX-8200HR X-ray system to its facility. Phoenix delivers electronic manufacturing services to quality-crit- ical customers in the aerospace, aero- nautics, defense, medical, and re- search sectors.

The company has an extensive
portfolio of production equipment and assets, but until recently had been outsourcing its X-ray inspec- tion. Customer boards contain com- plex parts that the production team concluded could not be addressed re- liably by other inspection methods. Aside from challenging QFA
and QFM components, boards often contain heavy copper layers. In addi- tion, one aerospace customer deploys a hybrid device that cannot be in- spected optically. As well as proving the integrity
of surface mount operations to com- ponent level and validating the en- tire assembly process at Phoenix, the new X-ray facility provides docu- mented images and statistics, which
are valuable in customer reports. Contact: Blakell Europlacer, Upton Industrial Estate, Poole,
