Eventbrite, the world’s leading ticketing and event technology platform, opened its new 11,500 sq ft offi ce in an historical building at South Mall in Cork previously inhabited by the Provincial Bank of Ireland and the Irish Examiner. Eventbrite’s new home on Cork’s emerging ‘Silicon Mall’ is the latest milestone in the company’s history in Ireland, which started with a localised page for Irish event organisers in 2011, followed by its fi rst physical presence in Ireland in 2014, and then a customer service centre in Cork in February 2016. The Cork offi ce subsequently evolved into a fully fl edged hub for the company’s European operations.

Shutterstock, the leading global provider of creative assets is to open a Dublin office, focussing on engineering and R&D, with a founding team of 40. Shutterstock founder and CEO, Jon Oringer and CTO, Martin Brodbeck visited Dublin to announce the expansion of their global workforce at the opening ceremony for the new office. Jon Oringer said of the Irish operation, “Shutterstock’s creative platform serves more than 1.8 million customers in 21 languages across 150 countries. What wages?
The yearly ECB Forum on Central Banking took place in June, bringing together Central Bank governors, academics, high-level fi nancial market representatives, and others to exchange views on current policy issues and discuss the Forum’s key topic, which this year was Price and Wage Setting in Advanced Economies. Exploring the behaviour of prices and wages in advanced economies, both from a macro- and a microeconomic perspective, speakers included ECB President Mario Draghi (pictured) and former US Treasury Secretary Larry Summers.

Limerick, home of Munster Rugby, seems like a natural fit for STATS, a world leader in sports data and intelligence.
