Alltech was founded by the late Dundalk-born biochemist Pearse Lyons. Co-founder, Mrs Deirdre Lyons personally designs each of the offices, breweries and distilleries. Its European Bioscience Centre opened in Dunboyne, Co Meath, in 1999. Entering the atrium, an art installation and water feature includes glass DNA strands representing scientific knowledge. A grand piano at one side is used to


accompany the workplace choir’s practices and mini concerts.


Meeting rooms are inspired by the rich mythological heritage of the area, and the Lir room (pictured left), inspired


by the legend of the Children of Lir, is a no-technology room used for brainstorming and creative thinking. As befits a company whose founder had a master’s degree in brewing and distilling, there is also an onsite pub. alltech.com
