CONVERGING IN CASHEL DMS Governance (an international governance, risk management and compliance fi rm) has recently acquired Aviation Corporate Services (AVCS) in Cashel, Co Tipperary and is to create 50 new roles, bringing its commitment to jobs in Ireland to 150, between Tipperary and expansion in Dublin. The new roles in Tipperary will be for fi nancial services professionals and qualifi ed accountants.

Derek Delaney, Chief Operating Offi cer at DMS commented: “There is a convergence of industries becoming part of mainstream fi nancial services including aviation, shipping and rail. OF ART The inaugural Art Business Summit took place in Adare Manor, Co Limerick, in June. According to Rosanne McDonnell, Director of Art Business Summit, Britain’s departure from the EU presents an opportunity for Ireland to become an important centre for art business. “It is likely that Brexit will make the movement of art between the UK and EU more burdensome and costly. As an English- speaking EU nation, Ireland is ideally placed to become a gateway between Europe and the United States. But fi rst we must look at our tax regime and storage facilities,” she explained. The art world’s most prominent art business minds from the US, UK, Switzerland and Europe mingled with Ireland’s tax, law and wealth management professionals, discussing art as an asset class and key considerations collectors and their wealth managers need to make when looking at succession planning, inheritance and managing a collection. artbusinesseurope.com

The tax regime sees Ireland ranked second for its competitiveness, while Ireland comes in fifth out of the 63 countries for attracting and
