REPUBLIC OF WORK, CORK Republic of Work opened for business in February 2017 in a 15,500 sq ft building in the heart of Cork city. Everything from AI to HR is represented in its client roster’s businesses, and a focus on the community spirit aspect is strongly fostered in the co-working space. Its success earned it the Best New Business in Cork 2018 at the Cork Business Association Awards.

DINGLE CREATIVITY AND INNOVATION HUB The Gaeltacht-based hub, opened in April 2017, is not only home to an eclectic mix, with a World Health Organisation scientist rubbing shoulders with the producer of Workplace Choir of the Year, it has a deep involvement with community projects, including Transition Dingle 2030 (working title)–a project to facilitate the transition to a low carbon society–and a number of potential IoT applications.

BOXWORKS, WATERFORD Since opening in September 2016, Waterford’s Boxworks has attracted clients from a range of industries including fintech, pharma, architecture and legal. Success stories include Thimba Media, which took a 2,500 sq ft floor and went from 2 employees to 35 in just over a year. A second building of 5,000 sq ft is already in progress to cater for demand from Waterford’s thriving tech scene.

THE PORTERSHED, GALWAY Operational since May 2016, The PorterShed hosts a mix of ambitious tech start-ups and scaling companies, who along with anchor tenant AltoCloud, are often joined by IDA Ireland companies setting up in Galway. Recently, Australian company Siteminder set up and grew from 2 to 16 members in PorterShed, before moving to their new office and hiring 100 people.

THE HATCH LAB, WEXFORD Wexford County Council partnered with Bank of Ireland to deliver a new enterprise start-up facility, The Hatch Lab in Gorey, Co Wexford. It offers incubation and co-working facilities for 54 people, including hot-desks, meeting space, joint administrative services and high-speed broadband. Since opening in September last year it is already home to a number of successful start-ups including Abodoo, Schedulie, Detour Guide and Wilder Wander.

BUILDING BLOCK, SLIGO Sligo’s Building Block is a 20,000 sq ft co-working space with 1Gbps fibre broadband which opened in 2017. The building allows local start-ups to interact with global IDA-supported multinationals, as it has space for both co-working desks and larger closed-off offices.
