As part of the 100+ sessions at this year’s conference, NAfME’s North Central Division President Judy Bush will be coming to present two sessions. She is an outstanding elementary general music teacher in Nebraska and will be sharing a session called “Behavior Management and Feedback in a Changing Culture” for all music educators and a session called “From Methods to Madness: Ideas for a Sane Teaching Experience” for collegiate students. She will be spending Thursday and Friday at the conference and I hope you have the opportunity to meet her and attend her sessions.
On Friday at conference, we will once again be hosting high school students as they participate in the Aspiring Music Majors Program. Each year the number of sophomores, juniors and seniors has increased and we look forward to them finding inspiration at the conference. If you know students who are interested in being a music major (education, technol- ogy, composition, business, etc.) please encourage them to participate. More in- formation can be found here: wmeamusic. org/AMMP.
I look forward to learning and growing with you at conference this year, which is October 24-27. Early-bird registration is open until September 16 and then standard registration is open until October 16. After that you can plan to register on-site. To register and learn more about the confer- ence, please visit the conference website at
wmeamusic.org/conference. Finally, if you would like to attend the conference but need more support, please use the “Letter to Administrators” written by WSMA President and retired administrator Jon Gilliland found here: http://wmeamusic. org/conference/attendees/letter-to-ad- ministratorsattendance-checklist/, contact Laurie Fellenz, executive director at the Wisconsin Center for Music Education, or myself. WMEA is very proud of the
