NPL - AQE Stands D15 and D16
The National Physical Laboratory (NPL) will be highlighting a number of its services to industry at AQE and providing updates on important research including the use of low-cost sensors in ambient monitoring, and studies on uncertainties of emission reference methods at low concentrations.
NPL is the UK’s National Metrology Institute and a world-leading centre of excellence. NPL has a unique combination of knowledge and facilities, covering all the stages – from method/instrument development, laboratory/fi eld validation, CEN/ISO standardisation, dissemination of best practise, through to a comprehensive set of bespoke and ISO?17025 accredited emission measurement services. The knowledge gained from the provision of these services guides future research and development.

The Picarro G2509 analyser quantifi es ammonia (NH3), carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), and water vapor (H2O) emissions in real-time and at scale. Existing solutions for ammonia and GHG measurements in farming suffer from interferences that can artifi cially infl ate reported ammonia levels. They are not capable of cost-effective emissions quantifi cation in real-time. The G2509 is capable of real-time, accurate measurements in highly saturated methane environments during dynamically evolving ammonia events.
