All-in-one cloud-based solution provides multi-point internet connection for alarming, reporting and management in convenient central location

Svantek’s well proven SvanNET cloud-based solution now offers noise, vibration and dust monitoring with new 24/7 support functionality ideal for large infrastructure projects. The enhanced, all-in-one portal offers multi point internet connection with the company’s high- performance instrumentation to provide alarming, reporting and management in a convenient central location.

Svantek’s cost effective SvanNET has been specially developed for use with the company’s advanced SV 258 PRO vibration and SV 307 noise monitoring stations, as well as its exciting new Met One ES-642 remote dust monitor. It provides measurement status, alarms indication, power source including battery charge and external power information as well as GSM strength.

The new ES-642 remote dust monitor is an industrial air quality sensor designed to provide accurate measurements of particle concentration in both indoor and outdoor environments. Supplied in a rugged waterproof enclosure, it includes an LCD display to provide information about particulate concentration, fl ow rate, instrument status and power.

Svantek’s SvanNET enables web interface, access to data fi les in the instruments and status alarms for battery or memory. It sends out advanced alarms for noise, dust and vibration parameters which can be set for different times of the day rather than just during normal work hours. It means emails and SMS messages can be delivered to the correct person regardless of shift pattern.

Aidan Hubbard, Svantek’s Sales Director comments: “SvanNET is the central portal for all noise, vibration and dust monitoring data to be displayed and managed. Users are now looking for an easy to use all in one solution instead of running multiple portals for multiple instruments. They would much rather have a single portal and see everything in one place.

“In addition, a new support functionality enables users to easily get back up and help from a Svantek engineer on a 24/7 basis which is particularly ideal for large infrastructure projects.”

Sharing access with key people is made easy with Tokens. This feature does not require a password or username to enter but provides a website with live data streaming. Whilst the user is unable to make changes to the project, it is useful for making data more accessible.

Svantek’s IEC61672 class 1 SV 307 noise monitoring station now has the ability to alarm from vibration or tilt detection. This alerts users when it has been adjusted by strong winds or from attempted theft. It can also be alarmed from GPS movement although this is more appropriate for time synchronisation of multiple systems.

As an online solution, SvanNET does not require software installation and is accessible through a web browser or dedicated App for Android and IOS platforms. The responsive design enables use of SvanNET on various devices such as smartphones or tablets.

SvanNET allows usage of all types of SIM cards with the Svantek monitoring station modem regardless if they have public or private IP. Once a card is inserted into the instrument it automatically connects to SvanNET.

The web user interface is easy to use and intuitive to operate. The connectivity service offers management and gives full control of the monitoring system using any web browsing device like a mobile phone, tablet or PC.

The online preview template provides current results, time-history graphs as well as information on status of monitoring points. The preview website can be customised with logos and individual project names. The preview content can be confi gured in SvanNET interface that works as the Content Management System (CMS). To ensure reliability and data security, SvanNET has been located on the Microsoft Azure™ cloud platform that works through the global network of Microsoft-managed data centres.

The SvanNET project is an optional feature designed to offer fully automated management of multi-point noise and vibration monitoring tasks. Tools such as automatic fi les download, data storage, advanced alarms and data sharing for generating restricted access log ins to SvanNET enable unattended monitoring.

The functionality of SvanNET Projects allows grouping of monitoring stations so that alarms and reports are separately defi ned for each project. The data fi les are also grouped automatically in accordance with project assignments. For More Info, email:

High performance gas sensors for ambient air quality applications

Honeywell high performance AQ7 gas sensors are engineered for ambient environmental air monitoring applications. Advances in technology have led to exciting and rewarding improvements in living standards but have also contributed signifi cantly to a variety of serious environmental issues. Among these are the release of many types of chemical pollutants into the atmosphere that contribute to global and local environmental issues such as the greenhouse effect, sick-house

syndrome, and ozone depletion. In addition to meeting increasing market demand for environmentally conscientious solutions, the hazards of environmental pollution can be capable of causing severe injury within a short time period.

Developers are addressing this challenge as they concentrate on outdoor air pollution, including emissions caused by combustion from motor vehicles, solid fuel burning, smoke from brush fi res, windblown dust, pollen and mold spores. To meet these new gas-sensing challenges, Honeywell is committed to providing high-resolution, compact, robust, accurate, and reliable gas sensors for use in non-industrial environmental applications.

Honeywell is introducing the AQ7 Series Gas Sensors that offer high resolution and low detection limits as well as high correlation with control stations for ambient air quality (AAQ) applications. The 4-electrode electrochemical technology is highly sensitive to low gas concentrations in the range of parts per billion (ppb). These sensors provide accurate measurements and have excellent gas specifi city.

The response of an electrochemical sensor like the AQ7 Series (AQ7CO, AQ7ND, AQ7OZ and AQ7SO2) greatly depends on the environmental conditions, including changes in relative humidity and temperature. This continuous environmental fl uctuation can cause short-term effects on the sensor’s reliability (like impacting its sensitivity and baseline offset) as well as long-term effects (such as a inherent variation in the electrolyte concentration).

To ensure high resolution, Honeywell provides sensor parameters which can be customized to each sensor. For example, two ozone sensors are likely to have different parameters, even when the target gas is the same. Users can input each sensor’s parameters into their sensing system to establish proper environmental compensation for that specifi c sensor, which can then be correlated with the output of other sensors to provide the maximum accuracy possible for the overall sensed environment.

The AQ7 Series has the lowest sensor sensitivity decay over its full lifespan, which translates into the most stable and reliable sensors for environmental applications in the current market. Because the sensor is provided with individual sensor parameters, users are able to compensate for environmental effects.

The compact design of Honeywell AQ Series Gas Sensors sizes them well for portable AAQ applications. They can be used over an extensive range of gases and their ability to monitor extremely low gas concentrations, provide signal-to- noise ratio at lower detection limits, and offer full compensation for temperature and humidity using baseline offset, which combined with their high correlation with control station parameters makes them ideal for AAQ applications.

New monitoring and telemetry logger provides engineers with an improved interface and new connectivity options

Hydro International launches its new monitoring and telemetry logger to help engineers to monitor and collect even more data for water fl ow, level, quality and weather in remote locations or where there is no power supply.

The new Hydro-Logic® Flexi Logger 105

(FL105) is a major step forward in improving performance and usability from the previous Hydro- Logic®

Flexi Logger 100 model (FL100). The FL105 uses a

4G modem that supports Long-Term Evolution technology (NB- IoT and CAT M1) and is based on the faster ARM processor. It also has 32 channels for sensor inputs, double that of the Hydro-Logic®

Flexi Logger 100.

The new logger offers improved user interface, including protected Wi-Fi access, allowing engineers to confi gure the FL105 logger. Where available, the Wi-Fi can be used to transfer data to Timeview®

or to your own server via FTP. Its new

design keeps wiring and components isolated so that the battery or SIM card can be switched out safely.

Phil Collins, Sales Director, Europe at Hydro International comments, “Our new Hydro-Logic®

Flexi Logger 105 is a major step forward for the industry

in improving performance and usability for engineers when recording water fl ow, level, quality and weather on-site. The 4G modem and protected Wi-Fi access provides users with the functionality to stay connected and record vital data from remote sites or those with no power supply, which will provide invaluable effi ciencies.”
