New, all in one noise monitoring station is ideal for construction site monitoring
Svantek has launched the SV 200A all in one noise monitoring station with four built in microphones for noise directivity detection. The revolutionary new instrument enables identifi cation of dominant noise sources providing information about their location both in vertical and horizontal directions.
Ideal for construction site monitoring, Svantek’s SV 200A is a Class 1 sound level meter integrated with wireless communication via 3G, LAN, Wireless LAN and Bluetooth®
exclusion of unwanted events or to identify aeroplane fl ightpaths.
The SV 200A noise monitoring station boasts four additional microphones located on the sides of the housing which use the sound intensity technique to detect the direction of a dominant noise source both in the vertical and horizontal axes. The Leq distribution in angle sectors is saved as the time- history and can be used for data fi ltering and reporting.
The SV 200A noise monitoring station can perform a real-time frequency analysis on 1/1 and 1/3 octave bands and save it as time history data. Additionally it can record the audio signal for noise sources recognition and data recalculation.
The advanced alarms function can send email and SMS notifi cations triggered by threshold level conditions. Status alarms are also available. The 3G modem, WLAN and LAN provide fast data transfer over the Internet to PC with standard Internet connectivity. Adhering to ISO 1996-2 requirements, the SV 200A uses an electrostatic actuator to perform a periodic system check.
The instrument’s large windscreen is highly effi cient reducing wind noise effects even at high wind speeds. Metal spikes protect the station against birds. The weatherproof housing protects against extreme weather conditions while fulfi lling Class 1 accuracy.
The accurate GPS module provides information on location as well as measurement time synchronisation. An OLED display and fi ve push buttons enable the results preview and measurement parameters confi guration.
The SV 200A has an internal Li-Ion battery and interface for direct solar panels connection. A waterproof mains adapter for charging the battery and powering the station is also included. The Bluetooth®
and Wireless LAN provide an access point for an easy confi guration with the SvanNET App.
Svantek’s SvanNET is an advanced server solution supporting remote connection with SV 200A. The SvanNET allows usage of all types of SIM cards with the SV 200A modem regardless if there is public or private IP. The connection over SvanNet allows the use of a web browser to watch real time measurement results, manually download fi les and reconfi gure the station, as well as download fi les and confi gure the station.

Static mode is used for measuring the depth of water in wells, boreholes and standpipes. DrawDown mode is used for measuring falling water levels during purging, well development and for low fl ow sampling.
The Well Casing Indicator Probe is used to measure the depth of metal casing in wells and boreholes from two inches in diameter and upward. The Well Casing Indicator Probe works using magnetism. While the probe sits within the magnetic fi eld of the steel casing, an auditory and visual signal is active. When the probe leaves the magnetic fi eld the signal stops. Note the condition of the well for accurate readings.

The Well Depth Indicator Probe (or bottom detector) is used to measure the full depth in wells and boreholes. The Well Depth Indicator Probe uses a pressure sensitive plunger to measure the distance to the bottom of the well. When the Well Depth Indicator Probe reaches the bottom of the well, the plunger enters the probe body closing a switch, initiating an audible and visual signal at the top of the well.

A unique new probe that combines the power of the SWiFT SVP and a turbidity sensor has been launched by leading British oceanographic and hydrographic instrument specialist, Valeport. The new SWiFTplus uses Valeport’s world leading high accuracy sensor technology which incorporates turbidity observations with sound speed, temperature and pressure sensor technology to also provide computed conductivity, salinity and density. This is coupled with the convenience of Bluetooth connectivity and a rechargeable battery.
The handheld profi ler, constructed from Titanium for unrivalled durability, has been designed from the outset with the intention of a seamless workfl ow and has an integral GPS to geo-locate every profi le. SWiFTplusis intended for coastal, harbour and inland environmental and hydrographic survey use and offers high quality profi les in a compact, robust and portable package.
Valeport’s new turbidity sensor addition is effectively two sensors in one. The fi rst is a “classic” turbidity sensor (nephelometry using a 90? beam angle) for low turbidity levels (0–2000 NTU) and the second uses an OBS optical backscatter arrangement (~120? beam angle for optical backscatter) at high turbidity levels (>20,000 NTU). Intelligent sampling eliminates the need to gain switch at higher turbidity levels.
Using a simple ‘twist and go’ switch on the unit, data can be easily and quickly downloaded, reviewed wirelessly via Bluetooth, using the new Valeport Connect app, allowing data to be instantly shared in industry standard formats through email and cloud services. Valeport’s new Connect software is also available on PC and can be used with a USB cable for instrument setup, data extraction, display and translation to common-format data strings and additional tools. Designed specifi cally for the operation of SWiFTplus and new to market Bluetooth enabled products, the new software simplifi es and streamlines operation and data download tasks. Valeport Connect offers download capability with data translation and, once downloaded, allows both current and historic data to be visualized.
