New Heat Transfer Station at CPHI Shanghai
Huber China, partner of Huber Kaeltemaschinenbau Germany, offer heating and cooling thermostats within the temperature range of -120 to 425°C. Known for their highly accurate and rapid temperature control, Huber systems offer cooling powers from 450 watts at 0°C up to 24 kW at -60°C and 2 kW at -100°C for transindustry applications. This year at CPHI Shanghai, visitors to Stand E1F06 can see a range of products including the new Heat Transfer Station (HTS), ideal for applications where a cooling water supply is required with stable pressure and flow and precise working temperature. The HTS has no mechanical refrigeration but is fitted with a circulation pump, plate heat exchanger and CC-Pilot controller. The CC-Pilot controller is equipped with a colour display and RS232 interface which controls the cooling water temperature from 5 to 80°C with a stability of ± 0.1K, via a Pt100 sensor directly connected to the application. The HTS offers good temperature stability and depending on model and water temperature, cooling powers of up to 15kW can be achieved.
A+ Single-Element Standards
VHG Labs featured its A+ Certified Single-Element Aqueous Calibration Standards. The A+ line has been developed by VHG Labs to provide the highest levels of quality and traceability available today in solution standards. A+ standards offer our customers absolute confidence in their ICP, ICP-MS and AA/GFAA analysis-- ensuring the highest possible levels of productivity from their laboratory instrumentation.
Every A+ Standard is prepared from high purity raw materials, acids and 18Mohm DI water. Each is certified using High Performance ICP- AES (HP-ICP-AES), a method developed by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). This method assures the highest accuracy, with a statistically derived expanded uncertainty and complete traceability to NIST Standard Reference Materials (SRMs). The purity of each of the standards in our A+ line is confirmed by an ICP-MS analysis for trace impurities. VHG Labs is the only manufacturer of spectrochemical solution standards using HP-ICP-AES. As a result, our A+ Standards customers enjoy the highest level of confidence that their analysis will be accurate and precise every time. VHG Labs also offers a broad range of multi-element aqueous standards that are manufactured from our A+ Single Element Standards so our multi-element aqueous products are just as pure, accurate and precise as our single-element standards. In addition they offer a full line of both single and multi-element metallo-organic standards. All of the certified reference materials produced by VHG Labs are manufactured in our ISO 9001:2008, ISO Guide 34:2009 facility and certified in their ISO/IEC 17025:2005 facility.

In addition visitors will be able to see the popular Petite Fleur - the baby Tango, an entry level Unistat circulator for applications in the mid-range -40˚C to 200˚C. The Petite Fleur is 2/3 the size, 2/3 the power and 2/3 the cost of the Unistat Tango. Despite the size, the Petite Fleur features all the benefits in performance and safety of a hydraulically sealed system whilst the CC Pilot Professional Controller provides the unit with full functionality. The compact Minichiller is designed as a space saving tower and with a footprint of just 225 x 360mm the Minichiller takes up less bench space than many laptops. With a temperature range of -20 to +40°C and cooling capacity of 300 watts at 15°C, Minichillers are ideal for cooling reaction blocks, vapour traps, vacuum pump condensers, rotary evaporators or heat exchangers. Ministats claim to be the smallest cooling thermostats in the world. The Ministat range consists of 3 models, which are available as either air or water-cooled versions. Depending on the model, working temperatures are from -45°C to +200°C and cooling capacities of 600. A powerful variable speed pressure/suction pump allows optimum circulation and can be controlled using an optional pressure sensor, which protects delicate glassware.

Sturdy and Secure Sample Storage Able to withstand temperatures from -80° C to +121°C (112°F to +249°F), Scienceware®
Freezer Storage Boxes from Bel-Art Products are made from autoclavable polypropylene and won't break
down like cardboard freezer boxes due to frequent freezing and thaws. This saves users the hassle and expense of needing to replace freezer boxes, and it prevents the excess waste generated when using boxes that break down frequently. Perfect for keeping 0.5, 1.5 and 2.0ml cryo vials and microcentrifuge tubes organised on the bench, in the freezer, or during transport, they fit most standard 2" freezer racks. Each slot in the Scienceware®
Freezer Storage Boxes is identified alphanumerically for easy identification and tracking of samples.
"Clear translucent lids make sample viewing possible without opening the box lid, unlike similar boxes with clear bottoms and coloured lids," according to Lenny Hernandez, Product Manager for Bel- Art Products. "They are available with five coloured bases to easily segregate like samples by colour, and there is a 100-place box in opaque black that is ideal for light sensitive samples. "A 'no-slide' feature in the Scienceware®
when stacked on the bench or anywhere around the lab." Scienceware® Freezer Storage Boxes are sold in packs of five. Suggested retail for Scienceware® 81-Place Freezer Storage Boxes is Circle no. 412
Freezer Storage Boxes provides security when stacking boxes," Hernandez added. "The grooves moulded into the bottom and lid of each freezer box helps prevent slipping 81-Place Freezer Storage Boxes have a secure fitting, lift-off, clear translucent lid and measure 14 x 14 x 4.8cmH (5.5 x 5.5 x
1.9"). The 100-Place Freezer Storage Boxes have a hinged lid with a snap tab that opens easily and closes securely. They measure 15.4 x 14.3 x 5.6cmH (6 x 537 x 2.2") with the hinges and tab, and 14.3 x 14.3 x 5.6cmH (5.7 x 5.7 x 2.2") without the hinges and tab. Scienceware® $40.00/pack. Suggested retail for Scienceware®
The 100-place box is also available in opaque black for light sensitive samples. 100-Place Freezer Storage Boxes is $41.50/pack. Each box size is available in blue, green, orange, purple, natural, or an assortment of all five colours.
Good Morning Density
Starting up the DMA 500 density and concentration meter makes for a good morning in the laboratory: The compact instrument is essentially ready to go once out of the box. This ease of use extends to the instrument’s entire operation – optionally even off the line, thanks to an integrated rechargeable battery.
The stand-alone DMA 500 density and concentration meter gives liquid analysis and quality control a strong spin towards simplicity, providing results with an accuracy of 0.001 g/cm3
at the push of a button. The basis for the instrument’s density determination is the oscillating U-tube measuring principle – renowned for its performance and applicability since first employed by Anton Paar in 1967.
Measurements with DMA 500 are safe against voltage fluctuations or power outages due to the instrument’s integrated rechargeable battery. The meter automatically switches to the battery-operated mode for up to two hours of off-the-line operation – or up to six hours, if the optionally available high-performance battery is employed. In any case, measurements can be continued as planned without losing data or time.
