Laboratory Products 63 New Budget-friendly and Economical Chiller Range Announced
Many technical applications depend on a reliable cooling solution. Huber Minichillers and Unichillers are the ideal solution for environmentally friendly and economical cooling in laboratory and industry. There are several air and water cooled models available, with cooling powers from 0.3 to 20 kW. Effi cient energy management in all Huber chillers ensures low operating costs and a quick return on investment.
The chillers are now available with the new OLÉ controller. The units combine state of the art technology with simple operation. OLÉ models are suitable for routine tasks in research and industry and are convincing as practice oriented basic equipment. They are equipped with USB and RS232 interfaces as standard and have a bright, large OLED display. A Pt100 sensor connection to display (not control) e.g. the process temperature is available as Option.
The compact Chillers have a premium stainless-steel casing and reach operating temperatures of -25°C to +40°C. The technical equipment includes an illuminated level indicator, as well as status symbols for pump, cooling and heating. All models are available with an integrated heating to extend the temperature range to +100°C.
All Huber Chillers are designed for non-supervised permanent operation at ambient temperatures of up to +40°C. The models are equipped with a circulating pump with 1 bar pressure for best fl ow rates. For applications with signifi cant pressure loss, ‘P’ models with stronger pressure pumps (2.5 bar) are available.

New Compressed Air Drains Offer Both Value and Performance
Hi-line Industries has launched its new HTD condensate drain into the UK market. Featuring an isolation valve for strainer cleaning to 250 micron, the latest-generation HTD offers a 100% ED rated solenoid coil and multi-voltage timer controller to ensure automatic compressed air system drainage.
Although condensate drains are possibly the most inconspicuous components in a compressed air system, they are among the most important. These compact yet innovative products have to function with extreme reliability for the system’s fi lters and separators to do their job effectively. Moreover, compressed air drains prevent moisture carry-over, which can wash away lubricant on motors and bearings found in tools and machinery, leading to premature wear, higher maintenance and greater expense.
Hi-line’s HTD is a fully automatic (no maintenance) drain offering a high performance-to-cost ratio. Described as Britain’s best value autodrain, the HTD is based on a high-quality, 16-bar rated brass valve body which is precision machined to fi ne tolerances. High pressure variants at 40 and 80 bar are also available to order. The valve orifi ce bore is 4mm in diameter, thus allowing the largest piece of dirt, metal or scale to be removed along with the condensate.
At either end of the 2/2 way direct-acting valve can be found a ½” male and ½” BSP female connection. The coil is available in 24, 100 and 240V versions, and is 100% ED rated to offer long service life and facilitate operation in temperatures up to 60?C.
To allow use across the full range of Hi-line drains, the solid-state timer controller is multi voltage. Furthermore, the rugged ABS housing/enclosure is IP65 rated to refl ect its suitability for use in harsh operating environments. LED indicators display the operational status of the drain, while a manual test button is also employed.
Timer drains such as the HTD are a popular option based on cost, ease of installation and reliability, particularly if fi tted with a strainer on the inlet. Designed for use on fi lter housings, after coolers, dryers, pressure vessels, air receivers and compressors, regardless of size or capacity, the adjustable interval times (30 seconds to 45 minutes) and discharge times (0.5 to 10 seconds) allow users to make the drain to work at its optimum and become energy effi cient.

Irish Company Launches Comprehensive Targets for Earlier Detection of Gastric Ulcers
Aalto Bio Reagents its pleased to announce availability of its new mouse monoclonal antibody to Helicobacter pylori fl agellin for diagnostic test manufacturers, vaccine developers and researchers globally.
Diagnosis of infection is accomplished by non-invasive methods, such as detection of H. pylori antigens in stool sample or by determination of IgG, IgA or IgM antibodies to H. pylori in human serum samples. Aalto Bio Reagents is pleased to announce availability of its monoclonal antibody to H. pylori fl agellin which is self-pairing and can be used as both capture and label elements in immunoassay development.
The global H. pylori market is expected to grow steadily from 2017 - 2027 with a compound annual growth rate of 8.23%. This is on account of an increasing ageing population combined with an increased prevalence of infectious diseases and gastritis. The rapid advances in the fi eld of in-vitro diagnostics in addition to the increasing approval rate for immunodiagnostic tests, are expected to further propel the market growth of H. pylori.
Philip Noone, CEO of Aalto Bio Reagents, said: “The welcome addition of our MAb to H. pylori strengthens our presence in this growing area with our already well-established, native H. pylori antigen. This hugely successful antigen is being used for production of a number of IgG, IgA and IgM ELISAs which are CE marked and currently on the market, as well as in the production of ChLIA and lateral fl ow assays. Our industry has an unrelenting requirement for access to the most scientifi cally proven raw materials, a broader range of fl exible controls and faster diagnostics. With our H. pylori MAb and native antigen solution, we are truly building a comprehensive range of materials to meet our customer’s needs. We envisage that our H. pylori MAb and protein will provide the critical element to further diagnostic companies’ research and development of assays. We will continue to focus on the expansion of our IVD products with even more additions in 2018-19, to enable our customers to bring superior, best-in-class diagnostic products to market faster, and aid in the development of life-saving vaccines.”
