Hello Yorkville Residents, Chamber Members, and Visitors
After quite possibly the most trying year one could imagine, our community and businesses are unified more than ever. Te last year saw incredible cooperation between the Chamber of Commerce, City, School District, Kendall County, and other agencies to keep residents safe and to help businesses survive, and in some cases, thrive. I am reminded daily of the positive impact that local government can have on our community and our children. Te Kendall County Health Department’s vaccine clinic at the
newly acquired, soon to be City Hall and Police Station at 651 Prairie Pointe Drive is the shining example of cooperation between local agencies. Because of the hundreds of volunteers who were coordinated by Lynn Dubajic and the determination of the Health Department staff and board, Kendall County has been the top County in Illinois for vaccination of seniors. Tis cooperative spirit is what makes Yorkville so strong with a fantastic future. Over 300 new homes were built in 2020 and 2021 is off to a great start, kids are back in school (Amen), many new businesses and restaurants have opened, and thousands of out -of -town visitors were welcomed to our establishments. Te Yorkville “Team” continues to be our biggest asset.
