Activity 2 Bending and strengthening Learner’s Book page 32 Guidelines to implement this activity


• This is a group activity. • Divide the learners into groups of 3–4. • Learners have already done an activity similar to this where they learnt to strengthen material by folding it.


• The difference here is that they are strengthening it by increasing support and using thicker material.


• The thicker strip on its edge should prove to be the strongest. Note the similar principle with the I-beam.
