• This activity is intended for informal assessment. • Use the suggested answers to assess learners informally. Allocate learners a mark out of 12 and give them feedback on their performance to prepare them for formal assessment.

This is a group activity. • Divide learners into groups of 3–4 • Ensure that each group has:
– two bulldog paperclips – four sheets of A4 paper – a pair of scissors – a weight (1 kg) or stone to act as a weight – 1 m string – a stapler – two drinking straws
• Follow the steps carefully to demonstrate to the learners.
