All change at PDW Group as founders step down
After spending almost 17 years running Nottingham training provider PDW Group, founders Jim and Elan Thomas are stepping down. The duo have passed on the reins to Jo Mousley
(pictured), who stepped up to managing director at the beginning of January. PDW Group works with multiple high-profile clients including Sky TV, Center Parcs and Holland & Barrett, as well as SMEs, to improve the performance of employees. Jim said: “Since joining the company, Jo has been
instrumental in positively influencing the lives of many in our client base, and has been instrumental in building our client advocacy and employee engagement levels to the heights they are at today.” PDW Group was founded in 2004 by Jim and Elan,
who had previously worked in the corporate world for Coca-Cola. The Colwick-based company works with its clients to transform the behaviour and performance of their teams through coaching, assessments, and feedback surveys. Jo joined PDW Group in 2015 from Wilko, where she
spent 22 years across multiple roles from retail store management through to central leadership and development roles. Initially working as the performance development manager she was promoted to client services director before taking up her new position. Her appointment comes as the company ventures
into new territory, including setting up an e-learning content service and a reseller partner network for its technology portfolio – which spans areas such as 360-
degree feedback, people engagement surveys, and its HR, performance and learning management software brand Immerse Works. Jo said: “I have many ideas for where we would like
to take the business, but for 2021 we will be building on the strong foundations and rebuilding momentum after a difficult 2020 in our core business.” Moving forward, Jim and Elan will both retain active roles in the business in terms of front-line client work.
Top credit rating is affirmed
Leicestershire-based social housing and care provider emh group has had its A+ grading affirmed by ratings agency Standard & Poor’s (S&P). S&P recognised that the
group plays an important role in the provision of social housing in the UK. It has increased its financial strength in recent years. In 2018, the group was
named as one of Homes England’s strategic partners, securing £30.5m in grant funding to deliver affordable homes over four years. It also secured a further £12.9m as part of an extension of the partnership in 2019. These funds enabled the
group to increase its development programme, in which about 2,500 affordable homes will be built in the East Midlands by 2023. Andrew Kilby, emh group
executive director of finance, said: “This rating reflects the strength of both our financial position and our business strategy.”
