batches, replicating, if necessary, the production conditions. “Körber specialists, through the analysis of the pilot line data, will be able to help the customer develop the solutions that best suit his needs, identifying the best combination of paper, technology and characteristics of the finished product.” Pivot Solutions is ‘glocal’, with
a local presence at plants around the world and a global knowledge of the tissue market, thanks to the experience and interaction between the plants. Pivot Solutions today has five pilot lines, including the new Constellation S6 Pilot line and three Pivot laboratories, located between Green Bay, Lucca, and Joinville. Giannini continues: “In the
centre of Lucca the first Pilot line was installed with the innovative Constellation S6 four-roll technology, capable of producing products at a production speed of up to 700 m/min” This new pilot line is equipped with Körber’s most advanced technologies, such as:
● Defender, a technological upgrade capable of producing more than 10,000 face masks in rolls per minute, the line is complete with a box filler machine to pack the rolls of masks into convenient boxes and/or dispensers;
● Motorised ‘Punsoncini’, where the elimination of pneumatics allows for a stable, precise, robust system, controlled directly from the HMI panel;
● Warm Up, the new embossing system that uses heating on the engraved steel roll to enhance the characteristics of the finished product, launched thanks to the collaboration with Roll-Tec;
● SAM, the intelligent control
different interfolded products. “Recently it has been possible to both install and remotely start the MTC ITF7000. This was possible thanks to the consolidated technology of the machinery. More 100 have been installed this way,” says Stefano Anelli, Körber tissue fold sales manager.
Box filler machines for facial tissue products High-precision boxes can be created with the latest box filler from Körber, the Casmatic CBF150. With a modular design, the line

system capable of measuring the weight, consistency and diameter of the produced log, without compromising the production speed;
● Leonardo, a lotion station able to finely control the quantity of lotion applied by means of a special Anilox roll in contact with the paper sheet;
● Glue filter, a technical modification that allows you to separate the fibre from the glue, allowing the clean glue to return into circulation;
● Aquabond, the glue-free lamination system that allows you to use water instead of glue to join paper plies.
Interfolder for high end tissue products Körber’s latest single-fold interfolder designed for the production of high-end two-to- three-ply facial tissue products is the MTC ITF7000.
The machine has been designed
to ensure the best productivity, with the same number of cycles, for the production of Away From Home facial tissue products with
V-fold. The machine is capable of 220 metres per minute, processing 22 logs per minute and with the insertion of the gang saw in the cutting area, it is possible to speed up the cutting of the entire log by sectioning it into several portions in a single movement. This improves productivity and quality especially for non-wrapped products such as facials. Körber claims the MTC ITF7000 is the only machine capable of working with very long rolls: compared to conventional interfolders that use rolls of up to 1.6 metres, it is able to work with 2.7-metre rolls by using patented ‘vacuum’ technology. During operation, the log is subjected to both calendering, a particular process that makes the paper more delicate and soft, and to treatment with antiseptic and perfumed products.
The HMI panel has also been
optimised, which allows not only self-diagnosis of the machinery’s operations, but the software technology allows also the individual ‘recipes’ to be stored in memory for the production of
saves time during installation: the modules which compose it are assembled directly in the Körber factory, and then reassembled by the customer during the installation of the machinery. Capable of producing 150 boxes per minute, the CBF150 uses a sophisticated box forming system, enabling very low-weight cartons to be handled. As a continuous box filler machine, the CBF150 never interrupts the flow of product during its passage through the machine, offering a considerable technological advantage. “The line is very competitive on the market both in terms of price and ease of use,” says Nicolò Squarzoni, Körber Tissue’s marketing product manager. “It is also possible to access the machine easily and safely for any maintenance and cleaning operation.”
