All plants great and small Advice for gardeners from Chestnut Nursery

If you are anything like us, then your favourite space at home is in your garden.

It’s a place of change that with each

season provides new possibilities to enjoy nature in all its beauty. Plants bring people together and help us escape the daily grind. Even if you have no garden, a balcony or windowsill full of plants is enough to transport one’s mind.

It’s now that most fantastic time of year when anything is possible, as spring is well and truly springing, and we have what you need; all things fl owering and beautiful, all plants great and small. The nursery is fully stocked with everything that a gardener could possibly need. The volunteers are working across the nursery, tending to plants and creating displays in our retail area for all to enjoy. The potting shed is a buzz with activity as we pot and sow our ever anticipated seasonal ranges of healthy home grown plants. As the sun makes its appearance, the greenhouses and poly-tunnel, glisten with a bristling array of tantalising foliage and fl owers.

Traditionally, Easter time marks the beginning of the gardening season. It’s a time to start tidying up your garden, feeding shrubs and roses and house plants. Sowing herbs, hardy annuals and new lawns, or repairing bald patches. Get those shrubs and perennials planted out soon so that they establish before summer. With a watchful eye out for late frosts, summer bedding can even be attempted.

The excitement is building for a fruitful season ahead. Please call in and share in the delight at Chestnut Nursery ‘Caring for People, Caring for Plants’.
