Corfe Mullen Youth Club
The drop in session over Christmas proved very successful with 38 young people calling in to the centre to meet their friends and seek advice and information from professionals.
By providing a service like this we, as a Youth Trust, are trying to fi ll the gaps left by others that affect our young people and families. We will be seeking funding to repeat this annually.
Spring is just around the corner and we are having a clearout of unused items, disposing of some fold- up tables and chairs, like those used in village halls – ideal for boot sales or small groups. Please email for details.
With the recent summit regarding global warming and pollution, we are trying to do our bit to help. We now sell cans instead of plastic bottles. The cans are then crushed and recycled. We also use paper cups with fully recyclable lids instead of plastic.
Senior helpers will be undertaking a food hygiene course, which is a useful life skill.
The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award is going well with our Silver group planning their expeditions and we also have some young people from Corfe Hills
School volunteering at the coffee bar. This will build their self-confi dence by communicating with the members. They also help set up the club for the activities on the programme.
The spring programme is available on Corfe Mullen Parish Council’s website:
www.corfemullen-pc.gov. uk, where there is a link to the Community Youth Club pages. We also publish regular updates on the Corfe Mullen Community Facebook page.
New members are always welcome. Parents/ Guardians of Year 7 and above, up to Year 13 students, are encouraged to email or call in for membership enrolment forms before attending.
This term’s timetable, all sessions 7-9pm: Mondays: Duke of Edinburgh’s Award & Project Night Tuesdays: Year 9 and above (senior club) Thursdays: Year 7 Fridays: Year 8
