BENEFICIARIES 2020: The third of this year’s Carnival Benefi ciaries is the Wednesday Luncheon Club. This Club provides a freshly cooked lunch for the elderly on Wednesdays in term-time, and provides a friendly atmosphere in which the members can socialise and enjoy a chat together. There are over 30 members, and approximately 15 volunteers who prepare the meals, which take place at St Nicholas Church.
The club is seeking funds, which would pay for two buses to take members and volunteers to Pines Hotel, Swanage for lunch and a short tour around. One of the vehicles is suitable for those with mobility problems. This annual outing is especially important to those club members who have diffi culty getting out.
QUIZ COORDINATOR: Our fundraising quiz nights are incredibly popular and we’d like to hold four throughout the year. We are looking for someone to volunteer to become our Quiz Coordinator, with the specifi c task of putting these quizzes together. They raise a great amount for our benefi ciaries. If you are interested in chatting about this position, please do make contact.
THANK YOU WAITROSE WIMBORNE: In January we were fortunate enough to have been one of the Waitrose Community Matters benefi ciaries. Waitrose is a regular
supporter of the Carnival, having donated funds from the green token scheme in 2017, and by providing cake- making ingredients for cakes sold in our 2019 tea tent.

Richards Estate Agents held a fundraising Fortnum & Mason Christmas Hamper Draw for us at the end of 2019. It was a great success, raising £442 for our 2020 benefi ciaries. It was so successful, they’ve decided to hold another fundraising event in the lead up to Easter. Do keep an eye out for more details.
