If you’re planning to take a brisk winter walk around one of North Nottinghamshire’s more popular
routes such as Clumber Park, Sherwood Forest or Creswell Crags, why not pair it with a visit to Worksop Priory to delve into the fascinating history that surrounds this ancient monastery.
To celebrate the impressive restoration programme of the Grade I listed church, one Wednesday a month, volunteers from the congregation offer free guided tours to highlight the historical interest surrounding the church interior and its grounds.
See the site of the Augustinian priory which was established in 1103 by William
de Lovetot, often credited as the founder of Sheffield.
