NEW YEAR, NEW YOU
Reach your goals in
The turn of a new year makes for the perfect opportunity for new beginnings and possibilities. But can setting a strict list of resolutions every really be achievable?
In order to better ourselves in the long run, this year why not make small, manageable tweaks to your lifestyle to reduce the likelihood of quitting before February ends.
A full year is a long time, yet many people tend to rush towards their goals expecting immediate results in limited time. Making gradual changes eliminates the pressure, drastic decision making
and guilt when you have a wobble. If you want to get fitter in 2020, take those first steps towards your goals by forgoing the lift or escalator in favour of the stairs – you’ll be surprised by the immediate energy boost. For those who need the motivation to exercise more, there are many local gyms in our areas with excellent facilities and friendly personal trainers to help you keep going.
As we head into another decade, there will be some amongst us who’d like to turn back time to look and feel youthful again. In 2020, why not pledge to put the phone down and break the boredom by taking up a new hobby or learning a new skill. There are many social groups around for all ages to join, plus places locally that offer free training schemes. If you have time to spare, volunteering can be a gallant way to help others in need while feeling like you’re playing a part in society. There are many worthy charities in South Yorkshire who would all appreciate your support and you can gain skills and experience at the same time. But most of all, in 2020 remember to be thankful for the life you’ve been given, the people around you, and the future that lies ahead.
