It’s the New Year! I often think that the turning of the year encourages us to look in three directions at once! We look back at 2019; we take stock of where we are and we look forward to 2020.


The new year can often bring a real mixed bag of emotions and memories for many of us. Some may have just experienced the best year ever and look forward to an even greater one looming ahead.


Others may have just trudged through one struggle after another and the prospect of the new year brings with it a deep yearning for things to be better.


Whether we’ve just walked through the greatest year of our life, or are incredibly glad to see this one finally over, one truth still rings clearly for us all. We are not alone – not for one single moment ever!


Our God is “with us” and we do not make the journey through life on our own.


And more than that – our God loves us and forgives us, offering us a fresh start whatever we have been through.
