LAMMA preview Bumper show predicted

as stand space sells out • Machinery sector looks forward to show • Tomorrow’s farming in the spotlight • Anticipation building for indoor event

ext month’s LAMMA show is set to build on its rep- utation as the UK’s larg- est agricultural event dedicated to showcasing innovation when it returns to its new permanent indoor venue at the National Exhibition Centre in Birming- ham.

N More than 95% of stand space

was sold for event over three months ago, following LAMMA’s debut at the NEC last year. Some 700 previous and new exhibitors have confi rmed their attendance to showcase a host of UK and glob- al machinery and technology. In addition, the event will also host a new feature, Farming 4.0, highlighting the expertise, fl air and passion for innovative tech- nology that exists in UK agricul- ture to encourage the new blood that the sector needs to help un- derpin its future. LAMMA’s move to the NEC in Birmingham brings together all farming sectors under one roof to do business in a thriving environ-

ment. The event also provides a great opportunity to network and discuss the latest events affecting agriculture.

‘Ideal venue’

Many conversations at the event are likely to centre on the latest Brexit news and the best way to react to it, while the increasingly pressing issues of climate change and carbon will no doubt be a hot topic in the livestock hall, which is sold out.

“UK agriculture fi nally has a show to rival its European coun- terparts and we believe LAM- MA’20 will be even bigger and better than the last,” says Agri- Briefi ng group events director Elisabeth Mork-Eidem. “The NEC provides a very com-

fortable environment in which to view and discuss the vast array of agricultural kit on show and to talk business, leading many exhib- itors at LAMMA’19 to comment on the high quality of conversations they had with visitors.

“The overriding feedback was that the new indoor venue proved ideal for a national event of this size and stature, showing our ag- ricultural sector in the best pos- sible light.”

Regularly attracting more

than 40,000 visitors, LAMMA ex- hibits will include a range of UK and global machinery and prod- uct launches – including new trac- tors, combines, drills and cultiva- tion equipment, feeder wagons and forage machinery.

Brand new zone To help address the needs of younger people entering the in- dustry, the brand new Farming 4.0 zone will highlight UK farm- ing’s expertise, fl air and passion for innovative technology that will help underpin the future of food production.

It aims to encourage new tal- ent into agriculture, challenging the outdated perceptions of work- ing in agriculture and educating new entrants about all avenues of farming, including technology, ro- botics and digital.

“The zone will cover training and development which plays a fundamental role in the future of farming, especially in the machin- ery sector where so much exciting technology is being introduced at a rate no-one would have thought possible a few years ago,” said Ms Mork-Eidem.

“This has been underpinned by the highly encouraging uptake of stand space for the 2020 event. In all, 11 halls at the NEC are set to host more than 700 exhibitors, re- fl ecting LAMMA’s reputation as the UK’s most diverse and inno- vative machinery, equipment and services show.”
