[RIGGER’S CORNER]
The company’s inspectors are LEEA certified.
...and the Hercules Training Academy offers courses accredited by LEEA.
to offer rigging courses that are accredited by LEEA – Not only are our technicians receiving the best quality internal training by superiors every day, but we can train your team too! We even have clients in the global aerospace and defense
industry that rely on our inspection technicians to ensure their rigging gear is up to safety code. Hearing from our inspectors on jobs like these, they tell us, “To work there, you need security clearance, a variety of official background checks and a guard to accompany you—It’s intense,” although one added, “I had the chance to watch them manufacture armoured personnel carriers for the army from start to finish. It’s pretty cool to see a piece of sheet metal turn into an entire vehicle right before your eyes!” It’s got to be interesting having a body guard follow you
around at work! It might surprise you, but that’s not the only story we’ve been told of our inspectors being followed around by some ‘muscle’! Did you know that some banks even use wire rope? Shane Ford shares how, “A lot of people might not think of rigging equipment in a bank, but it’s definitely there. At the Bank of Canada, an armed guard stands by a gated door while I head in and inspect the wire rope they use. It’s neat to get a behind-the-scenes look at places I normally wouldn’t!” We trust our banks to keep our hard-earned money safe, and banks place their trust in Hercules SLR inspection technicians, to ensure their wire rope systems are performing as they should.
We asked our inspection team to tell us something that clients often don’t know about inspections when you visit them onsite. Te main feedback we heard? Clients don’t realize how important inspections are. A big misconception people have is they should check their equipment only when there’s an incident or accident and are completely unaware of when or how often inspections need to be done, or the fact they have to be done—It’s not an option. In addition to our LEEA-certified Inspection team,
Hercules SLR offers a free asset management service, CertTracker, to keep all your equipment certifications & inspection approvals in one place. CertTracker also notifies you when your equipment and gear is up for inspection and includes timestamped records of inspections, so you’ll never worry if you’re up to code. Eliminate paperwork, access digital checklists and have immediate access to maintenance and service history. Ensuring that your equipment is operating correctly and safely should be a worry-free part of your business. Without inspections and maintenance, equipment failures can have a major effect on safety, unscheduled outages and your business costs. No matter what the industry, environment, or type of equipment being used, keeping your gear inspected and in top-performance by trained experts should always be a priority. Whether we’re securing a load, or powering a windmill, Hercules SLR keeps safety front of mind. y
