LIFTING AND RIGGING 2020: THE INDUSTRY’S BEST CONFERENCES AND EXHIBITIONS

From the Editor: As the holidays and the new year approach, you’re hopefully well into your planning for 2020. Whether to attend, present, or exhibit, your plans are likley to include at least one if not many of the following industry events. We hope this overview helps you best select those that will best meet your business goals, and make the best user of your time.
For this report, we’ve broken events into two categories, leading off with those more specific to the lifting and rigging secyor, and following with those more broadly focused on an industry where lifting and rigging gear plays a role but is not the central focus of the event. Within those groups, events are covered in date order of their first occurrance, except for ConExpo… which is really beyond categorization, so we start there.

About: CONEXPO-CON/AGG is North America’s largest construction
trade show representing asphalt, aggregates, concrete, earthmoving, lifting, mining, utilities, and more. Te event is held every three years in Las Vegas, Nevada. It’s an enormous show with plenty to see, including an award-winning Tech Experience area and a number of talks given by industry leaders.
Attendees: Te majority of attendees are contractors, and dealers/distributors/rental companies make up the next largest group. ConExpo is the only show that connects attendees from every major construction sector, and most areas, including lifting and rigging, are well-represented.
Highlights: Te show’s sheer size and breadth is staggering—2,800 exhibitors across 2,500,000 square feet
