APRIL 2019 THE RIDER /55
Paralyzed rodeo champion, Amberley Snyder, is coming to Belleville, Ontario!
Hosted by Fur-
ball’s Choice at Cedar Rail Farms, and sponsored by Omega Alpha, Am- berley Snyder
is
leading a barrel clinic north of the border for the first time to share her experience and in- spire
Canada’s
rodeo hopefuls. While on her
way to the Denver Stock Show and Rodeo in January 2010, Amberley Snyder’s life was changed
forever.
She barely survived the acci- dent that left her paralyzed from the waist down, but she was back in the saddle a mere four months later despite being told that she would never walk, let alone ride, again. Amberley’s story of determination, perseverance, and her optimistic attitude in the face of overwhelming odds can be seen in the Net- flix biopic “Walk. Ride. Rodeo”. This event was organized
by Jade Farrington, a western riding coach, and Stephanie

foods company, in
Belleville, Ontario. The event will be held at Cedar Rail Farms, a beautiful western riding and gaming facility lo- cated north of Belleville owned and operated by the Burgess family. This location has hosted many high profile western events, including an annual MBHA show every August. “I decided to approach Amberley at the beginning of
last year with the idea of run- ning a barrel clinic here in Canada after reading about her and following her on so- cial media.” says Jade Far- rington, “She is a huge inspiration to thousands and really focuses on having the right attitude to overcome ob- stacles.” Since returning to the
saddle after her accident, Am- berley has travelled across America as a motivational speaker and competes in rodeo shows with her horse, Power.
curve balls and it is up to us whether we let them moti- vate us or hold us back” commented S t e p h a n i e . Stephanie herself was confined to a wheelchair for six months following a motorcycle acci- dent in April 2014 and knows first- hand the drive and courage needed to
make the best of the hand your dealt. “This is a rare opportu- nity to learn from one of the best barrel racers from the Western United States with a unique approach to the sport. We are honoured and excited to be hosting her!” Amberley’s first Cana-
dian Barrel Racing Clinic will be held on Saturday April 20th 2019 and Sunday April 21st 2019. Thirty lucky riders and forty auditors will be partici- pating in the clinic.
