Sheila Toll www.ontarioxtremecowboy.ca/ Our changes are

showing great success! 2019 is shaping up to look like one of the most excit- ing years our club as had yet! With 8 races con- firmed, 6 pending, 2 clin- ics and more inquiries flooding in to hos, it is

going to be a busy year! Highpoint awards and

qualifying for the finals are no longer requiring rid- ers to attend every show. Now they only need to at- tend half the shows and submission is only their top 5 scores. This was so

Regional Director - North Erika Peckover Fundraising Committee

Leianne West OXC News that competitors can

choose to just show in their area of the province but they could also travel to other shows if they de- sire, which we know many will.

A new idea that came

to fruition was to host an I n t e r n a t i o n a l Race that awards

5x the number of EXCA points. Within two hours of announcing the Bill Cameron Clinic, it was sold out. Within 5 days of opening entries for the Eastern Canadian Champi- onship Race, it capped out at 80. The changes made to our club are clearly pay- ing off and many new

members have joined. The sponsorship,

beautiful

handmade silver belt buck- les and world class judging are making this club one of the fastest growing around. This event will be

held at MJM Equestrian in Hannon, Ontario, April 27/28. Clinic auditor spots are still available and can be purchased online via the webpage under the events

tab at

http://www.ontarioxtreme- cowboy.ca/ Auditor spots are

available and volunteers are always needed. Another reason our

club is excited about this race is the opportunity to have Level 5 Judge, Hall of Fame Inductee and in- ternational clinician, Bill Cameron from California. Bill’s family has been a part of so many interesting facets of the horse world and that includes major

motion pictures. City Slickers, Man from Snowy River and even John Wayne movies are all a part of the impressive his- tory the Cameron family horse history. Another change made

this year was to allow non- western tack in the Novice division at the regular shows. This provides an opportunity for people in other disciplines to give it a try. Our office is being flooded with fairs all over Ontario

asking for our Club to be a part of their event and we are going to need more rid- ers! If anyone was think- ing about trying this sport, they have the option to purchase a one time/one day membership for only $5.

Anyone interested in

this sport is encouraged to contact any of our board members listed, email or even messenger on our Facebook page for Ontario Xtreme Cowboy.
