Tina Irwin Earns Hat Trick In 2019 CDIO 3*

Wellington Nations Cup

Ottawa, ON, March 16, 2019 – Tina Irwin of Stouf- fville, ON earned an im- pressive hat trick in the 2019 CDIO 3* FEI Nations Cup, presented by Stillpoint Farm, winning all three small tour classes hosted at the Adequan Global Dres- sage Festival (AGDF) 10 in Wellington, FL.

After helping the Cana-

dian Dressage Team take team silver with back-to-back small tour wins on March 13 and 14, Irwin rode forward for individ- ual honours in the CDIO 3* In- termediate I Freestyle on March 15 aboard Laurencio (Laurentio x Donnerhall), a 12-year-old Oldenburg gelding she owns with her husband and fellow Grand Prix athlete, Jaimey Irwin. Riding to a medley of tunes,

catchy including

Avicii’s “Hey Brother” and “(I’ve Had) The Time of My Life” of Dirty Dancing fame, Irwin

guided Laurencio through creative choreography Continued on Page 2.

ganza that, like everything else about the Can-Am, conveys the fundamental message on which the whole show has always been built – that horses, no matter how demanding and difficult

to earn a score of 74.460%. “This is now our second

individual gold,” said Irwin, who also picked up both team and individual gold nations cup medals in Wellington in 2017. “To do it once is amaz- ing, and to do it again on the same horse is really great. It’s an honour. I’m thrilled (to have won), and to be in this com- pany is fantastic.” After a landmark 2017

season, which included nine consecutive wins and a world record small tour score, the tal- ented pair moved up to the grand prix level in 2018. How-
