UniqueVenues
Out-of-the-box venues for hosting prod- uct launches, dinners and special cere- monies include three art centers and four professional theaters, including the iconic Tower Theatre in Upper Darby, where the biggest names in music have played and even recorded albums. Today’s top artists continue to perform here, but it also is a very unique venue that can accommodate 25 to as many as 3,000 guests for cor- porate awards presentations, business meetings, dinners and parties.
Planners can hold large outdoor events at one of the amphitheaters in the county, such as Scott Arboretum at Swarthmore College or Rose Tree Park in Media, which can hold 3,000 people on the hill- side above a large professional concert stage.
Penns Woods and Grace Wineries provide exceptional wine tastings and the Wyeth- inspired Brandywine River Museum of Art is a premier dinner and cocktail location. The museum features galleries dedicated to the work of N. C. Wyeth, Andrew Wyeth and Jamie Wyeth. Its outstanding Heritage Collection is a cross section of American art with a special focus on artistic practice in the Brandywine Valley. Nineteenth- and 20th-century landscape paintings testify to the beauty that drew well-known artists to the area. The Brandywine River Museum of Art is avail- able for corporate events in the evenings and its galleries remain open for two con- secutive hours so that guests can enjoy the world-renowned art collection.
Event attendees will find adventure at every turn, including at: the team building Xscape venue; Linvilla Orchards with its year-round festivals, hayrides and activi- ties; The John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge (America’s first Urban Wildlife Refuge); and also at many popular his- toric sites, such as: the Brandywine Battlefield; The Newlin Grist Mill; The Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation; and the Plank House, which sits on the Delaware Riverside and has reputed ties to Blackbeard the Pirate. There are several detailed Guides on the
DestinationDelco.com website, including guides for hiking trails, the arts, wedding venues, monthly events and more.
