Delaware County boasts a world-famous museum, award- winning vineyards and breweries, more than 85 historic sites on the National Registry, as well as many quaint towns and boroughs to explore.


Over the last decade, Delaware County’s occupancy has often been the highest among Philadelphia’s surrounding counties - and this year is no exception. In fact, the coun- ty’s number of hotels has doubled since 2007 and still its occupancy remains the highest.


“Our attractions draw thousands of people each year,” noted Steve Byrne, Destination Delco’s executive director, “and our colleges attract some of the country’s top stu- dents and visitors, including Villanova University, home of the Nation’s #1 men’s basketball team for two of the last three years. “

Destination Delco asserts that the county has become very good at providing great experiences for all types of visitors. For example, they note that Millennials appreciate that vir- tually all of the local hotels offer fitness centers and healthy breakfast and break choices. In addition, the county is “fair trade aware,” and has been growing greener every year. This farm-to-table mindset has taken hold in the local restaurant scene, too.


Veterans’ organizations, religious groups and reunion plan- ners appreciate Delaware County’s pricing, VIP service and regional accessibility, says Destination Delco. And corporate event planners identify with the county’s bottom-line think- ing, exceptional team building opportunities, and outstand- ing support services and technology tools.
