Minx’s owner, Sophia Ali, is an experienced management consultant and problem solver who had her first taste for business aged ten working in her parents’ off-license. While other young children were off playing, Sophia was ordering stock, working to compliance regulations and attending trade shows to help her father buy new continental wines – most of which she said tasted like vinegar to her.
After forging her roots in business, Sophia went on to study Clothing, Manufacturing and Technology at university where she worked on manufacturing, operations and management sectors

within the fashion industry. Shortly after donning her cap and gown at graduation, Sophia jetted off to Hungary to start her first ‘real’ job with a menswear company, responsible for logistics and production, undertaking internal compliance audits and installing quality systems across four global factories.
Since then, Sophia has
developed skills in sales growth and compliance along with becoming a certified BSI auditor. In February, she decided to use her skills and knowledge to launch Minx Consulting where she could mentor, educate and guide businesses to help them improve performance and growth.

From sending toys to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, enabling older people to have day trips with Valley React, and even pulling on her wellies to help with gardening in Thurlstone, Sophia is always on the look-out for others who may need help.
She also volunteers as a regional assurance and quality officer for St John’s Ambulance and mentors students and offers placements at her old university stomping ground.
