Explore the woods on a dark hallows night. Sit by the campfire and listen to tales told by one of our older residents, The Doctor. Take a self-guided hike through the woods and look for legendary creatures such as Bigfoot! This program is not recommended for small children.

Celebrate the turkey at Red Oak Nature Center. Learn turkey trivia facts to impress your family at Thanksgiving and create a turkey- themed craft to take home. Let our naturalist guide you through our fall forest while teaching you how to make a turkey call.

Do you love Sharks? Dolphins? Sea turtles? Want to help them out? Did you know that the Fox River flows directly into rivers that meet the sea? We may be hundreds of miles away, but we can help the ocean by cleaning up the trash that gets caught along the river banks and then flows to the sea. Come to Red Oak for a clean-up to help put trash in its place and protect our waterways from harmful plastic. The trees will thank us too! The event is free but registration is required. Gloves are recommended and bags are provided. An adult must accompany children 10 and under.
