Dart Notes Green news!


Dartmouth Town Council are looking forward to taking over some of Dartmouth’s assets from South Hams District Council soon, including the Royal Avenue Gardens, Coronation Park and the land out at Castle Estate. Dartmouth is blessed with some beautiful public areas, which are home to some fabulous plants and are host to many special events and festivals, such as the Dart Music Festival, the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, Shakespeare week and the Dartmouth Food Festival to name but a few throughout the year. The council are committed to ensuring these areas are maintained to a high


Dartmouth to Guernsey… and back ! 27 – 29 July If you haven’t heard already The Dart Pilot Gig Club have set themselves up for the ultimate Gig Rowing Challenge. Over 27 – 29 July they are planning to row a total of 142 miles from Dartmouth to St Peter Port in Guernsey….and back all to raise funds for a new competitive racing gig as well as fundraising for the Chil- dren’s Hospice South West. The £15k target is a tall challenge but for 2 worthwhile causes. They need all the support they can get so, if you want to get behind ‘Smudger’ and her crew, contact them through their facebook page – Dart Gig Club/Charity Rowing Event. You never know they might even break a World Record!

mouth Town Council as Town Grounds- man. Rob has been working with SHDC and Dartmouth Green Partnerships to ensure a smooth handover. He will be looking after the towns assets, main- taining and improving them for every- one to enjoy and is currently recruiting a team to assist him. Rob has come across from South


Hams District Council, where he worked for 9 years. He has always worked in the gardening industry and is looking forward to getting to work.

DARTMOUTH OUTDOOR POOL IS OPEN


The Dartmouth Outdoor Pool season began on 30th June, opening daily until early September. This is a real family and friend’s leisure experience, socialising and sunbathing on the grass, taking a relaxing dip, playing or length swimming – there is something for everyone, depending on the session. The heated pool on the Dartmouth Academy site, TQ6 9HW, measures 25-metres x 8.5-metres and staffed by fully qualified lifeguards who ensure safety and enjoyment. Hot/cold drinks, ice creams, snacks, swimming nappies and goggles are available to purchase. Private hires are available for your use.
