For children and the young at heart an all-action theme park is some- times the best option for a grand day out. Woodlands near Dartmouth is famous for its multi-coloured high wa- ter slides and toboggan run. In recent years it’s added more and more white knuckle rides, including the stomach clenching Vertigo. For smaller children, and the more faint hearted, there’s also a plethora of ball pools, petting zoo and hire boats for a calmer thrill. See www.woodlandspark.com for more details. And over near Exeter, just off Junction 30 of the M5, is South Devon’s other famous theme park Crealy Adventure Park and Resort. More than 60 rides and attractions, including a rollercoaster, log flume, pirate ship and tons of slides, are set in 100 acres of countryside. Visit www.crealy.co.uk for more information.
